Zarina Muhammad

Zarina Muhammad is a moving image and performance artist studying Fine Art at Central St Martin’s. Growing up in London with Gujarati and Bengali parents, her work deals with the in-between spaces of her diasporic experience; living in between cultures and the duality and fluidity of having a multi-cultural identity. Using appropriated Bollywood footage as a trope for an informal network of cultural knowledge, she tries to speak to a generation of ‘Indians-not-in-India’ and collectivise the shared experience, and the complexities, of living at the fault line between the East and the West.
